GANTECH Hosts Bright Minds Foundation Laptop Giveaway Event

On December 10th, the Bright Minds Foundation, in partnership with GANTECH Inc. and Capital One Bank, donated 24 internet-ready laptops and printers to middle school students in Howard County. The event took place at GANTECH’s Columbia, Maryland Headquarters.
Prior to receiving their equipment, each student and a parent/guardian attended a one hour workshop that provided technical training and a one hour financial literacy session. Mia Millette, GANTECH Vice President of Strategic Operations and a Bright Minds Board Member, led the technical training to educate the students and their families on the basic operations of their laptop, printer, and USB drive. The financial literacy training was conducted by local Capital One Bank branch members and was designed to inform the students and their families on the importance of money management.
This event commemorated three years of the Bright Minds Foundation Bridging the Digital Divide as they support Equity, Innovation, and Lifelong Learning in Howard County Public Schools. GANTECH is honored to have participated in this significant event!

GANTECH Inc. announced today that it has been recognized by "Everything Channel" on the CRN Fast Growth 50 "Up and Coming" list. The list recognizes the fastest growing solution providers in North America. The Fast Growth 50 "Up and Coming" list is an extension to the Fast Growth 100, recognizing emerging companies that have shown notable growth. Companies on the Fast Growth 100 list average a two-year revenue growth of 130 percent and average annual sales of products and services of $172 million. The ranking is based on two years’ growth of net sales from calendar year 2008 to calendar year 2010.
GANTECH has experienced tremendous growth since its inception in 1999. Over the past five years, it has grown by 455%.

GANTECH assists with Inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix

Rick Standridge, a GANTECH employee and VidSys certified engineer, provided essential support on the front line of action at the Baltimore Grand Prix!
Throughout the three day race, VidSys provided a Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software platform that enabled interoperability of many diverse systems. The PSIM system managed video surveillance for law enforcement and public safety officials providing protection to the city of Baltimore during the event. The information was used by Baltimore City Police, Baltimore City Fire Department, Baltimore City Department of Transportation, Maryland Emergency Management Agency, Maryland Transit Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority and the Federal Bureau of Investigation
Standridge’s duties included delivering the professional services concept of operation, performing site inspection/verification, installing the PSIM software platform and managing the system’s configuration. He successfully provided over 48 hours of support throughout the course of the race.

Mia Millette, GANTECH’s Vice President of Operations, has been formally appointed to The Bright Minds Foundation Board of Directors! As she begins her new term, Mia is dedicated to helping Howard County students utilize technology to reach their full educational potential.
Supporting Equity, Innovation, and Lifelong Learning in Howard County Public Schools, The Bright Minds Foundation donated nearly 200 computers to students from 2006 to 2009. As Chair of the Technology Committee, Mia will be connecting her technical innovative expertise to her passion for education, as she supports deserving students on their journey.
GANTECH’s 455% growth through the past five years is largely related to Mia’s operational leadership. She has successfully aligned the company’s technical capabilities with its strategic needs. In addition to her impressive corporate resume, she holds a Masters in Computer Systems Management, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an ITIL-Expert.

The call for volunteers was met, as was the response time from the GANTECH DHR TOSS team, during the evacuation of Ocean City and staffing of shelters. Columbia, MD (May 18, 2011) - GANTECH Inc., celebrated its Headquarters Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with Guest of Honor Governor Martin O’Malley. Additional distinguished guests commemorated the expansion including: Senator Jim Roby, Delegate Craig Zucker, Delegate Guy Guzzonne, Delegate Shane Pendergrass, Howard County Representative Dr. Calvin Ball, Howard County Council Member Courtney Watson, Howard County Council Member Jen Terrasa, Howard County Economic Development Member Linda Burger and Secretary of Housing and Community Development Ray Skinner.
GANTECH’s expansion comes on the heels of its most successful year, growing 24% from the prior year. ARINC, along with GANTECH as its primary MBE subcontractor, was recently awarded a Police Monitoring Facility (PMF) Relocation contract from the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). GANTECH will provide design, delivery, and installation of equipment for the PMF. With the PMF relocation, enhanced security and monitoring capabilities will be provided including a large video wall for CCTV display and equipment population of all of the PMF. The PMF project aligns with one of GANTECH’s objectives – expanding our presence in the security and public safety markets. This ongoing focus includes proposals under review to support mission critical security systems within the State. |
